If you are looking for someone to edit your manuscript, I might be the person you are looking for. I have considerable experience in working with other authors to improve their work. I am also offering cut-rate prices from June 2024 to June 2025.
Are you curious about who I have written book reviews for? Or perhaps you want to know more about the author interviews that I have done? Back in the 1980s, I was a regular book reviewer for Event and Canadian Poetry Review. I didn't keep a list of the books I reviewed back then, but there were plenty. It was generally considered a duty toward others to participate in the dialogue about books being published around you. These days, the percentage of authors participating in the dialogue this way is considerably less than it was. I'm an old fashioned sort, but I especially enjoy conducting interviews, so in 2022 I began (mostly) interviewing authors.

Freelance Editing
I will edit a poetry, short fiction, novel, or nonfiction
manuscript, through I should say I need to feel I can help the author with their book before I take-on the project. As I am just making myself available for this I am offering cut-rate prices.
I gained considerable experience as an editor, largely through my role with Big Pond Rumours International Literary E-Zine and Big Pond Rumours Press. I also did book and cover design.

I offer a comprehensive line-editing with suggestions for language tweeks as well as suggestions for cuts to sections or a rearrangement to improve the overall flow of the book. Every editor can only offer their impressions and opinions, so any suggestions made are not written in stone but advised.

$400 for a regular poetry manuscript
of 64 pages, larger books to be negotiated

Short Fiction
$600 for a regular collection of stories (approximately 40-50,000 words)

Novel
$800 for a book of 70-80,000 words and
somewhat more for a larger book

Non Fiction Book
These are decided on an individual basis.
