I am happy to work remotely or to visit your organization in person (Travel costs & lodging need to be covered if the gig is more than three hours drive from my home).

Sharon Berg attended the Banff School of Fine Arts Writing Studio (1982) and was accepted to Banff’s Leighton Artist Colony (1987). She is an alumni of Humber College’s Writing Program (2007). She did her B.A. in Indigenous Studies at Laurentian U (1991), followed by her B.Ed for Primary Education at U of T (1992), M.Ed focused on First Nations Education at York U (1998), and D.Ed focused on Indigenous Education at UBC. She also received a Certificate in Magazine Journalism from Ryerson U (1994).

          Sharon founded and operated the international literary E-Zine, Big Pond Rumours and its associated Big Pond Rumours Press which released chapbooks of Canadian Poets as prizes for the magazine’s contests (January 2006 to September 2019). She's published 5 full books and 3 chapbooks. Her work appears in periodicals across Canada, the USA, Mexico, the UK, the Netherlands, India, Germany, Singapore, and Australia. Sharon worked for many years as a public elementary school teacher. She currently lives in Newfoundland where she operates Oceanview Writers Retreat in Charlottetown, Terra Nova National Park.  

          In addition to her published works, she has several books (a debut novel, a 2nd short fiction collection, a YA novel, a 4th collection of poetry) which are all seeking publishers.
