Book Reviews by Sharon
Back in the 1980s, I was a regular book reviewer for Event and Canadian Poetry Review. I didn't keep a list of the books that I reviewed back then, but there were plenty. Not only was it a paid activity but it was generally considered a duty toward others to participate in the dialogue about books being published around you. These days, everyone wants to be mentioned in a book review or interview, but the fact is that the percentage of authors participating in this way is considerably less than it was. There are different ways to earn one's stripes these days. But I'm an old fashioned sort, and I especially enjoy conducting interviews, so in 2022 I began (mostly) interviewing authors.
